Get out of the tasting rooms for an afternoon and visit the birthplace of some of your favorite wines. Take the drive (just a few minutes north of Healdsburg). Walk the trails, say “Hi” to the llama (he sees and knows all), visit the sustainable garden with flowers and brush designed to attract the right insects. See the bees that keep things in line, the goats that are ecologically efficient chewers, the swallows and bluebirds that nab the right insects, and the owls that snap up the rodents.

And the best part? Walking amongst the grapes, Biodynamic and juicy. Go ahead pick one and taste it. Imagine the incredible wine that will come eventually from these very grapes and remember, patience is a virtue.
